Hartselle students to attend Boys State

Hartselle students Will Booth, Colter Moore and Ford Shelton have been selected to represent Hartselle High School at Alabama Boys State this summer. Boys State is a unique summer program conducted by the American Legion that uses hands on experience and participation in a model state government. Alabama Boys State began in 1937. Today, the American Legion conducts the program in 49 states. While attending Alabama Boys State, students will be introduced and instructed in the political process. Attendees will be taught the responsibilities of citizenship, the ABCs of politics and the political units of government and their functions.
