Lacey’s Spring man dies after US 31 collision

A Lacey’s Spring man died Saturday after a collision on U.S. 31 near Fairway Drive Southeast, according to Decatur police.
Billy Hydrick, 36, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. The driver and passenger of the second vehicle were transported to Decatur Morgan Hospital with non-lifethreatening injuries.
Police said Hydrick was traveling southbound on U.S. 31 and entered northbound lanes of traffic, causing the collision. Police said it is believed Hydrick suffered a medical emergency, but the investigation is ongoing.
Decatur police and other emergency responders were dispatched to the scene at 11:46 a.m.
Hartselle man dies in singlecar wreck

A Hartselle man died July 13 in a single-vehicle wreck, according to troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
Brandon R. Gonzalez, 19, was fatally injured when the 2009 Nissan Altima he was driving left the roadway, struck a tree and caught fire, troopers said. Gonzalez was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The wreck occurred at about 1:03 p.m. on Asbery Lane, approximately three miles east of Hartselle, in Morgan County, troopers said.
The crash remains under investigation.
