Larry Stanley Smith

Somerville A funeral service for Larry Stanley Smith, 75, of Somerville, was held Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at 1:00PM at Peck funeral home with Rev. Mathew Jetton and Rev. Roger Watson officiating and Peck funeral home directing. Mr. Smith was born on Thursday,December2,1948, to Carroll and Lassie Smith in Morgan County, Alabama. He died on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at his residence.

Larry Smith was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a member of True Holiness Apostolic Church, and he retired from Wolverine Tube. Larry loved his gardening, tractors and being outdoors. He loved going to the Smokey Mountains and to Cades Cove but most of all, he loved his family, and his grandkids were his pride and joy.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by Rita Crowe Smith, his former wife of 35 years, his parents, brother; Carroll Wesley, Jr., sister; Doris Ann Smith Fowler, and his son-in-law; Tracy Newman.

Survivors include his wife, Abby Arlene Gray Smith; son, Caleb Brooks Harville (Miranda); two daughters, Anita Charlene Jacobs (Daniel) and Andrea Christen Newman Reeves (Jason); three sisters, Carolyn Smith Slaten, Judy Smith Fowler and Sarah Smith Burnthall; three grandchildren, Caleb Barbee, Carson Harville and Carley Harville; special cousin, William Billy Mayfield (Judy).

Pallbearers will be Johnny Smith, Michael Smith, Caleb Barbee, Aaron Fowler, Jeff Wilbanks and Tommy Perry.

Honorary pallbearers are Dustin Free, Norton Smith and Larry Crowe.
