Congratulations to the Falkville FFA Dairy Judging Team
The Falkville High School Dairy Judging Team and their teacher, Mrs. Fields, recently achieved significant recognition in the State FFA Dairy Judging Competition, placing second overall. Adriana Gonzalez led the team with a 2nd place individual state rank, followed by Lily Ballenger in 7th and Destiny Hargrove in 12th. Gonzalez showcased a Guernsey cow, benefiting greatly from her teammates’ support during the preparation process. The team earned multiple accolades, including first premium in the Dairy Show for commercial cows, Grand Champion in the Female Commercial Open category, and Junior Champion in the Female Commercial Cows category. Additional awards included Champion Premier Exhibitor, first place in Showmanship Area, second premium in Senior Showmanship, second place in the Dairy Costume Competition, and fourth premium in Dairy Showmanship, Open.
FES welcomes new art teacher Falkville Elementary School has welcomed Kristi Landers as its new art teacher. Kristi and her husband, Michael, reside in Eva and have two children, a son-in-law, and a soonto-be daughter-in-law. A passionate educator, Kristi began her teaching career in 1994 and spent 27 years in the classroom before retiring. After a brief 30-day retirement, she returned to teaching part-time as an art teacher for three years. Although Kristi has been an Eva Eagle for most of her life, she is eager to join the Falkville Elementary community and looks forward to becoming a valued member of the Blue Devil family.
Morgan County Sheriff’s Posse Turkey Shoots The Morgan County Sheriff ‘s Posse is hosting its 5th Annual Turkey Shoot fundraiser. Scheduled dates for the events are Oct. 26, Nov. 16, Nov. 23, Dec. 7, and Dec. 14. The turkey shoot will take place at the Morgan County Sheriff ‘s Posse Grounds, located at 1801 Vest Road, in Hartselle. Gates will open at 7 a.m., and breakfast will be provided. The shoot will start at 8 a.m., with shots priced at $5 each. Prizes will include turkeys, hams, cash, and more. Special thanks go to Kars 24/7 Towing, Pepsi, Jacks, and Hardee’s for their support. Proceeds from the event will benefit the charitable work of the Morgan County Sheriff ‘s Posse.
