Billie Sarah Partlow Laney
Funeral service for Billie Sarah Partlow Laney, 83, was held Friday, November 15, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Geoff Halbrooks officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Herring Cemetery.
Mrs. Laney passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024 at her residence. She was born June 27, 1941, in Calhoun County, to William Harrison Partlow and Nancy Mildred Crawford Partlow.
She was a clerk for Gregg’s Grocery, prior to her retirement. She was a member of Somerville Baptist Church and a wonderful teacher and worker with youth. She enjoyed many years of teaching youth and impacting the their lives in her community. She also worked with the Youth of McKendree UMC for many years. She loved reading and music.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Hal Lamar Laney; her parents; a son, Jim McAbee; two brothers, Tommy and Bobby Partlow; a grandson, Tyler Jolley and a son-in-law, Glenn Jolley.
Her saying was, “If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all!” Survivors include her son, Daniel McAbee; daughters, Lisa McLeod (Mike), Barbara Williams (Paul), Sherry Jolley, Kim Laney and Nikki Laney; brothers, Harry Partlow (Jessica), Donny Partlow and Phillip Partlow; sisters, Nina Winkles and Anne Vinzant; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; special friend and caregiver, Rosemary Loomis.
Pallbearers will be Drew Stinson, Colton Stinson, Nic Jolley, Dusty Vinzant, Christopher Grant, Cody Waddell, Robby Vinzant and Jay Partlow.
