Doris Annette Chasteen
Funeral service for Doris Annette Chasteen, 86, will be Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Steve Barber officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mrs. Chasteen passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024 at her residence. She was born July 8, 1938, in Morgan County, to Roy William Lang and Beulah Lurline Edmondson Lang. She was a salesperson for W.T. Grant, and was a custodial worker for Decatur City Schools, prior to her retirement. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother (Nana).
Preceding her in death was her husband, Boyd “PeeWee” Chasteen, Jr.; her parents; a sister, Shirley McLamb and her husband, Thomas McLamb, and Jack Meredith.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Chasteen Simpson-Reed; granddaughter, Megan Bomar; grandson, Chris Bomar; great-grandchildren, Kolby Patterson, Kinley Patterson, and Lily Grace Bomar.
Pallbearers will be Chris Bomar, Steven Barnes, and James Bomar along with other friends and family members.
In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
