P.W. Williams Car Dealership - This image shows Hartselle merchant P.W. Williams' car dealership on South Sparkman (formerly Bowery) Street north around 1915. The car is appears to be a 1913 Stoddard-Dayton Model "30". Mr. Williams was the local Maxwell auto dealer, as the signs on the windows and above the car indicate. The sign in the upper right indicates the 1915 model Maxwell cars are available. Stoddard-Dayton Motor Company failed in 1913, and was acquired by the Maxwell Motor Corporation, which later became the Chrysler Motor Company. The two seat roadster in this image has no windshield, headlamps, or top, indicating that it might have been used for racing. Note the gas pump in front of the car in the background.
