Somerville Funeral service for Martha Posey, 86, was held Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Somerville Church of God with Bro. Michael Gunter and Bro. Pearl Jenkins officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Somerville Church of God Cemetery.
Mrs. Posey passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Decatur Health & Rehab Center. She was born February 24, 1938, to Edger Louis Brown and Nellie Martha Lou Humphries Brown.
She was a homemaker for her family. She loved her boys with all of her heart, and she enjoyed gardening and her flowers.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Harold Posey; two sons, Michael Darren Posey and Anthony Scott Posey; two daughtersin-law, Tammy Posey and Denise Posey; her parents; three sisters; and a grandson, William Sean Posey.
Survivors include her sons, Tony Posey, Sr. (Bonnie) and Ricky Posey, Sr. (Martha); her brother, James E. “Sonny” Brown; her grandchildren, Tony Posey, Jr. (Sarah), Ricky Posey, Jr., Adam Posey (Jennifer), Jeremiah Posey (Becky), Dustin Posey (Meghan), Matthew Posey (Tristina), Bree Posey, Heather Johnson, and Kristy Stevens; her greatgrandchildren, Genevee Posey, Chloe, Lydia and Naomi Posey, Melody Posey, Sawyer Posey, Ryatt Posey, Caroline Posey, John Michael Posey, Kayson Michael Posey, Bryleigh Posey, Bayleigh Posey, Lexie Johnson, Paisley Stevens, and Brantley Stevens; and two greatgreat-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tony Posey, Jr., Ricky Posey, Jr., Adam Posey, Jeremiah Posey, Dustin Posey, and Matthew Posey.
