Ronald Thurman Brown

Hartselle A funeral service for Ronald Thurman Brown, 78, was held May 2, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery of Athens.

Mr. Brown passed away on April 28, 2025, at his residence. He was born September 2, 1946, in Florence, Alabama, to Thurman Elias Brown and Sarah Clanton Brown. Ronald graduated from Decatur High School in 1964. He met Carolyn in Decatur in 1995, and they united in marriage in June of 1997. Ronald was a general contractor and owned several businesses and properties. He drew the blueprints and built his own home.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one son, Ronald Todd Brown. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Stewart Brown, his son, Max Meadows (Patti); daughters, Shelley McAfee (Jeff), Amanda Lee (Jerry), Ashley Gonzalez (Jose) and Antheia Simmons (Lee); his brother, Mark Brown; his sister, Kay Meadows; nine grandchildren, Landon, Lauren, Johnathon, Zoey, Chase, Emily, Olivia, Ian and MeKenzie; three greatgrandchildren, Tristyn, Hayden and Parker; his four beloved grand-dogs, Wicket, Charlie, Ellie and Willa; and a beloved friend and now a part of his family, Kenni Jo Shaneyfelt.

Pallbearers were John Barber, Steven Brown, Cameron Brown, Jeff Smithson, Roy Griffith, and Jose Gonzalez.
