A memorial service for Alan White, 80, of Decatur will be Sunday, Sept. 5, at 2 p.m. at Parkview Baptist Church in Decatur with the Rev. Todd Evans officiating.
Mr. White died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004, at Sunshine Haven in Hartselle. He was a native of Mississippi and throughout his life worked in retail business management positions, retiring as a mental health worker at North Alabama Regional Hospital.
He served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps. He had been actively involved in ministries with Gideons International, Prison Fellowship, Emmaeus Walk and a Hospice volunteer. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church of Decatur.
He is survived by one son, Dudley White of Hartselle; two daughters, Kathy Lewis of Athens and Cherie Beatty of Grand Saline, Tex.; eight grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
