Funeral for Patricia Diane Giddens, 53, of Valhermoso Springs was Saturday, Jan. 6, at 2 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Melvin Brown officiating. Burial was in Valhermoso Holiness Cemetery. Mrs. Giddens died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007. She was born June 2, 1953, in Tennessee to Oren McWhorter and Audrey Morrow McWhorter. She was a member of Valhermoso Springs Holiness Church and was retired from Chrysler Corporation. Her life centered around her church and family. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Ira Giddens of Valhermoso Springs; a son, John Phipps of Huntsville; three daughters, Devanna Phipps and Jamie Phipps, both of Valhermoso Springs, and Minnie Gaskins of Huntsville; a stepdaughter, Rebecca Maxwell of Somerville; a brother, Jimmy McWhorter of Arab; a sister, Debra Cravens of Arab; and 13 grandchildren. Pallbearers were Devoy Brown, John Phipps, Charles Cravens, Jerry Bearden, Tony Phipps and Michael McWhorter.
