Funeral for Beatrice Rigsby Tankersley of Hartselle was Saturday, July 7, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Drs. Ron Wilson and Jeff Redmond officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Tankersley died Thursday, July 5, at her residence. She was born in Blount County to Homer S. Rigsby and Ruthie Weldon Rigsby. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hartselle and was preceded in death by her husband, Braxton Comer Tankersley and a daughter, Suzanne Tankersley McAbee. She and her husband established Tankersley Sinclair Service Station in 1949 on Main Street in Hartselle and moved to its current location on Highway 31, North, in 1953. One of Hartselle's oldest businesses, Tankersley Service Center has been under continuous family ownership for 57 years.
She is survived by a son, Kenneth Comer Tankersley and wife Becky of Hartselle; a daughter, Dr. Anita Buckley Commander of Montgomery; a grandson, Frank Braxton Buckley and wife Lisa of Decatur; two granddaughters, Jessica Suzanne Tankersley and Katherine Claire Tankersley, both of Hartselle; a sister, Delorise Reagan of Decatur; a brother, H.W. Rigsby of Gadsden; and a great-granddaughter, Emma Beatrice Buckley of Decatur.
Pallbearers were Joe Ed Tankersley, Dwight Tankersley, Billy McAbee, James Chapman, Bob Greene and Frank Ellis.
Honorary pallbearers were employees of Tankersley Service Center.
