Somerville lands fire grant

Somerville’s fire department will receive funding from a federal program.
Somerville Area Volunteer Emergency Services will receive $60,943 through the Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program. The funding can be used for training, equipment, personal protective equipment, wellness and fitness and modifications to fire stations and facilities.
