Grant assists with weatherization
By Staff
Residents across Alabama will have a warmer winter this year, thanks to a $20.3 million grant awarded by Gov. Bob Riley.
The grant, awarded through the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, helps eligible low-income, elderly and disabled residents pay their utility bills. In most areas of the state, individuals who wish to be considered for assistance should contact the local Community Action Agency.
Morgan County’s money will be handled through the Community Action Partnership of North Alabama (Cullman, Lawrence, Morgan). Morgan County will receive $875,556.
