Are you living a life of conviction?
By Todd Barrier
In life we often try to imitate others. We see something in someone else that inspires us and makes us want to do better, so we make a goal to be more like that person. What about in our spiritual life? Do we look to the Bible and find people we can learn from to strengthen our relationship with God? Do we look to follow in the footsteps of faith?
There are many people in the Bible we could emulate. As I thought about the many people in the Bible I could write about for this article, Daniel came to mind. There are several things we can learn from and about Daniel that will help in our walk with God. Here are just a few.
1) Daniel was a man of purpose (Daniel 1:8). Daniel knew what his purpose was and stuck to it. 2) Daniel was a man of conviction (Daniel 5:17, 6:10). Daniel was convicted to live his purpose no matter the circumstance.
3) Daniel lived righteously (Daniel 6:1-4). Because Daniel was a man with a conviction to live what his purpose was it led him to a life of righteousness. We can live the same way as Daniel and many other Bible people if we are willing to “follow in the footsteps of faith.”
