Funeral for Monroe Guy Sivley, 97, of Hartselle was Tuesday, June 1, at 2 p.m. at Morris Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Paul Summerford officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Morris Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Sivley died Sunday, May 30, 2004, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was born March 5, 1907, in Lawrence County to Luther Monroe Sivley and Mertie Ida Poole Sivley. He was a farmer and a minister, and was an avid outdoorsman. Mr. Sivley was preceded in death by his first wife, Jimmie Lou Buttram Sivley; and two sons, Wayne Sivley and M.G. Sivley, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Ollie Sivley of Hartselle; one son, Jimmy Sivley of Hartselle; three daughters, Peggy Hightower, Jean Minor and Sue Payne, all of Hartselle; one brother, Walter Sivley of Moulton; 17 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
Grandsons were pallbearers.
