    Weddings

    Anderton, Stowe exchange vows
    Mindi Dawn Anderton of Moulton and Jeremy Lynn Stowe of Decatur were wed June 4, 2005, at 4 p.m. at East Highland Baptist Church with Bro. Walter Blackman officiating.
    The bride is the daughter of Gene and Cindy Anderton of Moulton. The groom is the son of James H. Jr. and Lesia Stowe of Decatur.
    The bride, given in marriage by her parents, wore a formal designer strapless A-line gown of exquisite white satin. The molded bodice, embellished with a scrolling embroidery design, was accented with crystal beads. The skirt, adorned with a motif of hand beading and embroidery, fell from a mock basque waistline and swept to a chapel train.
    Her fingertip veil of sheer illusion edged with satin was embellished with crystals and pearls and held by a silver crystal bridal tiara. She carried a hand-tied bouquet, designed by her mother, of white roses, tulips and hydrangeas accented with green berries. A white lace handkerchief that belonged to her great aunt, Annie Clay, was inserted into the bouquet.
    She also carried another lace handkerchief that belonged to her great grandmother, Dessie Moore.
    Meagan McDonald of Knoxville, Tenn. was matron of honor. Rachel McAbee of Auburn was maid of honor.
    Bridal attendants were Amber Bagwell of Cullman, Sara Shannon of Hartselle and Laura Porter of Decatur.
    Braley Ray and Charlie Ray, both of Bessemer, were ring bearers.
    Chuck Porter of Decatur was best man.
    Groomsmen were Gary Mooney of Baton Rouge, La., Michael Johnson of Decatur, Chris Shannon of Hartselle, Kevin McGrew of Hartselle, Matthew Anderton of Moulton and Danny Kelso of Decatur.
    Music was provided by pianist Keith Taylor of Ardmore, Tenn. and organist Tommy Gray of Hartselle.
    Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the fellowship hall.
    Wanda McAbee of Hartselle, aunt of the bride, was wedding director.
    Stephanie McGrew of Hartselle attended the bride's book.
    Program attendants were Taylor Keck of Decatur, Sara Taylor and Emily Taylor, both of Ardmore, Tenn.
    The couple honeymooned in Gatlinburg, Tenn. They reside in Hartselle.
    A rehearsal dinner hosted by the groom's parents was held June 3 at Burningtree Country Club.
    The couple was honored with several pre-nuptial events, including:
    Bailey, Gilstrap exchange vows
    Karin Jessica Bailey of Creola and William Walton Gilstrap of Hartselle were wed July 16, 2005, at 5 p.m. at Ashland Place United Methodist Church with the Rev. Al Moore officiating.
    The bride is the daughter of Jerry and Melissa Bailey of Creola. The groom is the son of William and Montez Gilstrap of Hartselle.
    The church and altar were decorated with an orange, pink and red floral centerpiece, two candelabras and floral door garlands.
    The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a golden ivory satin and chiffon Mon Cheri gown with crystal accents. Her chapel length golden ivory veil was edged with pearls and crystals.
    Brandi Criscione of Mobile and Leah Avera of Creola were maids of honor.
    Bridal attendants were Emily Williams of Pine Bluff, Ark., Rene Sprague of Mobile, sister of the groom, Hannah Gilstrap of Hartselle, sister of the groom, Faith Bailey of Creola, sister of the bride, and Adrianna Bailey of Creola, sister of the bride. They wore strapless gowns of burnt orange by Jordan.
    The groom's father was best man.
    Groomsmen were Patrick Sprague of Mobile, Wesley McCutcheon of Cotaco, Jeremy Turner of Citronelle, David Weems of Eva and John Tomlinson of Tuscaloosa.
    Ushers were Donald Flowers of Creola and Gabriel Walker of Mobile.
    Bro. Micah Smith led a prayer.
    Music was provided by organist Mary Powell of Mobile and soloist Jessica Ellis of Pass Christian, Miss.
    Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Bragg-Mitchell Mansion.
    The bride's table was displayed before one of the mansion's antique mirrors and featured a five-tier white cake with golden accents, a golden bow, and orange and pink roses.
    The groom's table featured a two-tier chocolate cake with the groom's initials, as well as an assortment of fudge and salted nuts.
    The couple honeymooned at Disney World in Orlando, Fla. They reside in Saraland.
    A rehearsal dinner hosted by the groom's parents was held July 15 at Guido's of Mobile.
    Stephenson, Douglass wed Aug. 13
    Pamela Jean Stephenson of Hartselle and Jason Richard Douglass of Birmingham were wed Aug. 13, 2005, at 11:30 a.m. at Walnut Grove Baptist Church of Decatur with Brad Roath officiating.
    The bride is the daughter of Ned and Betsy Stephenson of Hartselle. The groom is the son of Richard and Sondra Douglass of Birmingham.
    The church and altar were decorated in formal black and white colors featuring a castle design symbolizing, "Where dreams actually do come true."
    The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a dress of white lace chiffon with an embroidered halter and long train. Her bouquet featured daisies, white roses and Easter lilies.
    Ashley Harvel Moore of Hartselle was matron of honor. Arianne Mildred Dobbs of Hartselle was maid of honor. Lena Sutton of Somerville was bridesmaid.
    They wore black chiffon dresses and carried bouquets of bridal flowers.
    Skylar Bolton of Priceville was flower girl. Noah Birdwell of Priceville was ring bearer.
    Mike Atchison of Clanton was best man.
    Groomsmen were Russell Waltz of Pleasant Grove and Stanley Douglas of Birmingham.
    Ushers were Joshua Harvel and Lundy Michael Beavers, both of Hartselle.
    Music was provided by Shannon and Danny Farr of Cullman and Ronnie Reeves of Hartselle.
    Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the fellowship hall.
    The bride's table held an Italian cream cheese cake featuring a castle topper and plush rose d/cor.
    The groom's table featured a chocolate cheesecake and chocolate covered strawberries.
    Judy Dotson was wedding director. Beverly Stricklan, Jennifer Harvel, Judy Harvel, Renee Robinson and Faith Sparkman assisted with the reception.
    Faith Sparkman of Somerville attended the bride's book.
    The couple honeymooned in Lake Louise, Canada. They will reside in Birmingham.
    A rehearsal dinner hosted by the groom's family was held Aug. 11 at Fire Mountain.
