Funeral for Steven Dale Phillips, 57, of Decatur was Saturday, Mar. 7, at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chris Martin officiating.
Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Phillips died Tuesday, Mar. 3, 2009, at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tenn. He was born Mary 27, 1951, in Morgan County to Willard and Marie Bynum Phillips. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents, C.G. and Inez Bynum. He worked for 3M for 33 years and was a life-long member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He was an avid Alabama football fan and was loved by several nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his mother, Marie Bynum Phillips; two daughters, Jamie Phillips of Jacksonville, Fla. and Hillary Phillips of Decatur; a son, Brad Phillips of Vancouver, Washington; two sisters, Sheila Johnson of Decatur and Sherry Gailey of Hartselle; four grandchildren, Aspen Phillips, Jayden Phillips, Hailey Phillips and Kayla Phillips and a cherished friend, Tammy Russell of Decatur.
Pallbearers were Michael Hendrix, Fred Lamm, Mike Bice, Donald Pace, Joe Pirtle and Calvin Cathcart.
Honorary pallbearers were James Cathcart and Mike Dial.
