Funeral for Donell Johnson Lewis, 68, of Decatur will be Thursday (today), April 23, at 11 a.m. at Cave Springs Baptist Church with the Revs. Eric Mattox and Jason Moore officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Lewis died Monday, April 20, 2009, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born October 30, 1940, in Morgan County to John Pryor Johnson and Ruby Mae Nelson Johnson. She was a member of Cave Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. “Bud” Lewis and her parents.
She is survived by two sons, James A. “Tony” Lewis and wife Janice and Mark Christopher Lewis and wife Anna, all of Priceville; three daughters, Brenda Johnson and Donna Blackwood and husband Ed, all of Decatur and Teresa Craig and husband Tommy of Athens; a brother George Velvert Johnson of Hartselle; a sister, Betty John Hopper of Decatur; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ferrell Maples, Jimmy Phillips, Craig Riddle, Cory Willis, Larry Lewis and Jacob Johnson.
