Billy Joe Bowen
Funeral for Billy Joe Bowen, 75, of Hartselle was Monday, June 27, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial was in Mount Tabor Cemetery.
Mr. Bowen died Saturday, June 25, 2011, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born May 11, 1936, in Morgan County to Wallace C. Bowen and Evelyn Mays Bowen. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Barbara Taylor Bowen. They had two daughters. He later married Wanda Baker Bowen (divorced) and they had a son. He was a former police officer for the Hartselle and Falkville Police Departments and a former Deputy Sheriff for Morgan County. In later years he drove a truck for Liquid Air until his retirement. He was a Methodist.
He is survived by a son, Mike Bowen of Decatur; two daughters, Debbie Tanner of Pelham and Diann McNeill of Indian Springs; a brother, Wesley Bowen and wife Patsy of Abbeville, Ga.; a sister, Gean Haddock and husband Ray of Florence; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
