David Wayne ‘D.W.’ Davis
Funeral for David Wayne “D.W.” Davis, 61, of Hartselle will be Friday, July 1, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Forman officiating.
Burial will be in Shoal Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 30, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Davis died Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at his residence. He was born Wednesday, May 10, 1950, in Morgan County to Warren Eldridge Davis and Cora Irene Hayes Davis. He joined the Army in September , 1967, and did his training at Fort Benning, Ga. and then served two tours in Korea. He then served five years in the Army National Guard and also served as Commander of the VFW Falkville Post. He was a Baptist and was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Davis; a son, David Davis of Hartselle; a daughter, Katrina Davis of Falkville; a sister, Margaret Posey of Chattanooga, Tenn.; six grandchildren; and 16 nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be David Posey, James Posey, Michael Liles, Ryley Smith, Mark Curtis and Jeremy Brewer.
