Paul Henry Lee Jr.

Funeral for Paul Henry Lee Jr., 85, of Hartselle will be Wednesday, July 6, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Eric Taylor and the Rev. Mike Green officiating.

Burial will be in Charity Cemetery in Hazel Green.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 5, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Lee died Saturday, July 2, 2011. He was born February 23, 1926, to Paul Henry Lee Sr. and Pearlie Carter Lee in Madison County. He was retired as owner/manager of Hartselle Piggly Wiggly grocery store. After moving to Hartselle from Athens in 1954, he opened Hartselle’s first supermarket which later became Piggly Wiggly which stayed in business until 1998. He served on the board of directors of what is now Regions Bank and was also active in bringing Babe Ruth baseball to Hartselle in which he worked for many years. He was a WWII Army veteran serving in the 42nd Rainbow Division. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, William Paul “Billy” Lee; and a brother, the Rev. Edward Lee.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bobbie Higginbotham Lee of Hartselle; a grandchild, Amanda Allison Lee; two nieces, Delores Williams and Brenda Taylor, both of Inverness, Fla.; and a sister-in-law, Idella Lee of Inverness, Fla.
