Eva Lee Henderson Stallworth

Funeral for Eva Lee Henderson Stallworth, 88, formerly of Hartselle, will be Thur., Aug. 11, at 11 a.m. at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Mobile.

Visitation will be at Smalls Funeral Home at 950 S. Broad St. in Mobile Wed., Aug. 10, from 4 to 6 p.m.

Ms. Stallworth died Thur., Aug. 4, 2011, at a local hospital in San Francisco, Calif. , surrounded by family members. She was born in Mount Vernon, Ala. Jan. 30, 1923, to John Wesley Henderson and Ludee King Henderson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Stallworth, and a daughter, Eunice.

She taught school at the former Morgan County Training School and Hartselle Junior High School for nearly 40 years and remained active in various church and community affairs well beyond her retirement.

She is survived by a daughter, Dr. Harriette Stevens and husband Myles Jr. of San Francisco, Calif.; two sons, Isaac “Bud” Stallworth Jr. and wife Theresa of Lawrence, Kan., and Lavoisier “Jerry” Stallworth and wife Krishna of Oakland, Calif.; three sisters, Ansola Garner, Bessie Hinds and Mary Alice Fawlkes; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial be made to the American Red Cross or to a charity of your choice.
