Funeral for the Rev. Cline David Shaneyfelt, 89, of Falkville was Sat., Nov. 12, at 2 p.m. at Lebanon Baptist Church with Bro. A. Ray Lee and Dr. Randy Ashley officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
Mr. Shaneyfelt died Thur., Nov. 10, 2011, at his residence. He was born Dec. 14, 1921, in Morgan County to Herbert L. Shaneyfelt ad Annie Wright Shaneyfelt. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was pastor to six churches and two rest homes. He loved his churches, and foremost in his heart was to win the lost to Christ. He was a member of the Plumbers and Steam Fitters Local #377 for 60 years. He loved playing his guitar and singing with his girls and grandsons. He wrote several songs always with the theme of the love of God. He loved growing flowers and working in his garden, which he divided with his neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Carl and Lester Shaneyfelt, and a daughter, Patricia (Pat) Shaneyfelt Tate.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Brown Shaneyfelt; five daughters, Sandra Winsett, Gay Parrott and husband Dan, Mona Newcomb, Mala Ogles and husband Gary and Mary McClanahan and husband Jimmy; a brother, Harold Shaneyfelt; three sisters, Elvie Collins, Ruth Livingston and Frances Burden; 12 surviving grandchildren, Greg Winsett, Heath Winsett, Jeff Winsett, Danielle Parrott, Lincoln Parrott, James Newcomb, Jenny Newcomb, Leslie Tapscott Vogelaar, Mathew Tapscott, Johnathon Ogles, Lindsey Kubica and Audrey McClanahan; and 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Grandsons were pallbearers.
