Three arrested in Somerville Meth Bust

Three people were arrested Sat., May 11, after the Morgan County Drug Task Force discovered a one-pot meth lab in their residence, according to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office.

Justin Paul Hill, 24, Jessica Odessa Powell, 27, and Jamie Stuart Bearden, 34, were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Bearden was also charged with unlawful manufacture of a controlled substance.

Morgan County deputies were called to 104 Joyce St. in Somerville to conduct a welfare check of two juveniles living at the residence, where illegal drug activity was being conducted. Hill, Powell and Bearden were at the residence when the deputies arrived.

The residence had no running water and no electricity. Several items used in the manufacture of methamphetamine were discovered in plain sight, so the deputies contacted the Morgan County Drug Task Force, who received a warrant to search the residence.

The MCDTF located marijuana paraphernalia, two garbage cans containing a one-pot meth lab, plastic bottles fashioned into a generator, several cans of Coleman camp fuel and empty pseudoephedrine blister packages. All subjects were taken into custody, and Sheriff Ana Franklin notified DHR of the unfit living conditions.

Hill and Powell have been released on bond, but Bearden remains in custody with a $400,000 bond. Powell possibly faces more charges.
