Two charged with making meth in Hartselle
Two Hartselle residents facing methamphetamine charges after law enforcement investigated complaints on Mountain View Road SE in Hartselle Friday morning.
Christopher Gary St. John, 39, was charged with unlawful manufacturing a controlled substance first, unlawful manufacturing a controlled substance 2nd, and felony possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held in the Morgan County Jail on a $755,000 bond.
Lisa Marie Barnett was charged with unlawful manufacturing a controlled substance 2nd and felony possession of drug paraphernalia. She is being held on a $255,000 bond.
Sheriff Ana Franklin said in a statement that Morgan County Drug Task Force Agents along with Hartselle Police officers investigated a residence at 1209 Mountain View Road SE in Hartselle after receiving numerous complaints.
HPD officers discovered a suspicious vehicle parked in a wooded area down the street from the residence. A Morgan County Sheriff’s K-9 unit detected the odor of narcotics on the vehicle.
Law enforcement searched the vehicle and confiscated items used in the manufacturing process of methamphetamine. In addition to the precursor items, a large amount of drug paraphernalia was found.
Agents secured a search warrant on the residence and discovered a one-pot meth, fuel, lithium batteries, salt, coffee filters, HCL gas generator tubing, acid, a shotgun and syringes.
Hartselle Fire and Rescue was called to decontaminate the subjects before being taken to jail.
