Danville High School News

Congratulations go out this week to Danville High School student Grayson Glenn. Grayson is the Class 3A, Area 15, Bryant Jordan Scholar Athlete Award Winner.

The Scholar Athlete Award honors high school seniors who are both superior athletes and outstanding students. Selection considerations include scholastic standing, sports involvement, athletic honors, student leadership and civic/church leadership.

Church Activities

The Rev. Jason Henderson at Macedonia Baptist Church canceled their Sunday and Wednesday services for two weeks because of COVID cases.

Corinth West Baptist canceled their Piney Grove, Upshaw, Corinth and Mt. Vernon and Battleground meals for January. McKendree United Methodist Church members attending the Wednesday potluck supper and Bible study helped with taking down the Chrismon tree and storing it and the greenery and candles.

Falkville United Methodist Church members met Jan. 15 to take down the two Chrismon trees. They enjoyed refreshments in the fellowship hall.

Special prayers go out this week for Piney Grove Christian church minister, the Rev. Aaron Warnick, who has been undergoing cancer treatments. God bless you Aaron. Summerford Nursing Home Activities

Summerford Nursing Home residents and staff will not have their Valentine party since group meetings in the dining halls are canceled. The culinary staff will serve treats and decorate areas for the residents. Many thanks go out to the director, Ann.
