Soccer Recap: Hartselle, Priceville, Danville pick up wins

Hartselle, Priceville, and Danville picked up wins this past week in area matches.

MONDAY

Priceville boys 6, Fairview 1

The Priceville boys improved to 3-1 in area play with a 6-1 victory over Fairview. Levi Davis netted three goals, while Cody Kennedy added two. Elijah Hopkins had a goal and an assist.

Brewer boys 2, Boaz 1

Sonny Walley and Parker Colton each scored a goal in leading a come-from-behind victory over Boaz.

Priceville girls 10, Fairview 0

Anna Katherine Hopkins netted eight goals and had an assist in Priceville’s 10-0 victory over Fairview.

Carly Jo Nelson and Maddie Kennedy each scored a goal, and Tori Staats had five saves in recording the shutout. The Lady Bulldogs improved to 4-1 overall and 4-0 in area play.

TUESDAY

Priceville girls 1, Hartselle 1

Staats had 15 saves to help the Lady Bulldogs finish with a 1-1 tie in their match against the Hartselle Lady Tigers. Nelson scored Priceville’s only goal.

Hartselle boys 1, Muscle Shoals 0

The Tiger boys shut out the Trojans 1-0 to pick up their second area win of the year.

THURSDAY

Priceville girls 2, West Morgan 1

Anna Katherine Hopkins hit the back of the net twice in the Lady Bulldogs’ 2-1 win over West Morgan. Staats had six saves in the win. Priceville improves to 5-1-1.

Danville girls 5, J.B. Pennington 3

Angel Boston and Layla Sherrill scored two goals and two assists each in the Lady Hawks’ 5-3 victory over JB Pennington. Preslie Tinker added a goal. Elisabeth Hand had seven saves.

Danville boys 7, J.B. Pennington 0

Justin Hanline scored four goals and had one assist in Danville’s 7-0 win over JB Pennington.

Moises Parra added two goals and an assist, while Bo Huff added a goal and an assist. JoJo Whisenant had two saves.

Athens girls 2, Hartselle 1

The Lady Tigers dropped a close one on the road in a 2-1 loss at Athens.
