    Serving like Jesus

In John 13, Jesus does something truly remarkable-He wash es the feet of His disciples. At first, this may seem strange. After all, Jesus is the Savior of the universe, the King of Kings. Shouldn’t others be washing His feet instead? That’s how things usually work in this world- leaders are served, not the other way around. But if you’ve been paying attention to who Jesus is and how He operates, this act of humility shouldn’t be surprising at all. Jesus consistently puts others above Himself, showing us by example how we should live. In verses 13 and 14, He explains exactly why He washed the disciples’ feet: “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.” He makes it clear that we should be willing to serve all, not just a select few. Jesus humbled Himself to serve, demonstrating that true greatness comes through selflessness. If our own Savior was willing to lower Himself in service to others, how much more should we be willing to do the same? This moment is yet another powerful lesson Jesus teaches on His way to the cross. So, the question is: Will you follow in His footsteps and serve others as He has called us to do?
