Brewer shoots down Priceville

FLORETTE - Priceville tried to cut down Brewer’s inside game Friday night, but the Lady Bulldogs couldn’t stop the Lady Patriots’ outside attack in a 77-49 loss on the road.
Brewer made 12 3-pointers on the way to the dominating win over the Lady Bulldogs.
Emily Dabbs led the Lady Patriots with 23 points, including 20 in the first half. She had six 3-pointers in the opening half to help the Lady Patriots establish a 48-19 advantage.
Brewer, now 11-1 overall, had 10 3-pointers in the first half.
The strong shooting attack came on the heels of the Lady Patriots’ worst game of the season, a loss to Class 6A Florence earlier in the week where Brewer struggled to find its shooting touch.
Kendra Jones was the only other Brewer player to reach double figures as she scored all 10 of her points in the second half.
Patricia Murray had nine points and six rebounds, while Morgan Crawley added eight points.
All 10 of Brewer’s players reached the scoring column.
Meagan Hormel chipped in with eight points and six rebounds.
Presley Darling scored 13 points for the Lady Bulldogs with all of her points coming in the second half as Priceville started to come alive. The Lady Bulldogs finished with 30 points in the second half after posting a 19-point effort in the opening two quarters.
Adrianna Delatorre added 12 points for Priceville, while Melissa Johnson finished with nine points.
Brewer opened up a 12-2 advantage early with four 3-pointers in the first four minutes of the game.
Dabbs had three treys, while Krista Hughes, Patricia Murray and Britney Kent all added 3-pointers as the Lady Patriots went ahead 26-6 at the end of the opening quarter.
Brewer 80, Priceville 54
Brewer shot 64 percent from the field in the first half to hand Priceville an 80-54 loss.
The Patriots’ Cody Lanford scored a game-high 16 points after finishing 7-of-16 from the field.
Houston Lanford added 13 points, while Kohl Sowder and Preston Hackett both contributed 11 points in the win.
Houston Lanford and Hackett both hit three 3-pointers in the win. Brewer was good on 11 of its 25 attempts from the 3-point line.
Jamie Jones scored 12 points to lead Priceville. Josh Sharp added 10 points.
Brewer used a 26-point first quarter to take control of the game early. The Patriots led 45-28 at the half.
The lead grew in the third quarter when the Patriots limited Priceville to just eight points, allowing Brewer to push the margin to 65-36.
