A Hartselle man is charged with burglary in connection with a string of break-ins on Apple Grove Road.
Troy Keith Carpenter, 22, of Hartselle, is charged with two counts of burglary in the third degree in connection with three incidents. Sheriff’s deputies said he had items from the burglaries in his possession at the time of his arrest.
He is being held on $5,000 bond.
Carpenter’s brother, James Robert Carpenter, was arrested the next day in connection with the burglaries. He is charged with receiving stolen property in the third degree after allegedly being found in possession of a toolbox taken during one of the burglaries.
In an unrelated case, the Carpenter brothers’ sister, Angel Christina Carpenter, and her boyfriend, Justin David Roper, were arrested for possession of a forged instrument.
Bank employees identified them as the one who tried to cash a forged check at Peoples Bank off Beltline Road in Decatur.
