Two charged in air conditioning theft

Two Hartselle men were arrested last week in connection with the theft of an air conditioning unit.
Michael Heath Murphy, 25, of NW Vest Road, and Lance Harlene Millette of Aspen Drive SW, are each charged with theft of property in the first degree.
The arrests came after a neighbor noticed suspicious activity at a home on Dec. 29. The neighbor called the Hartselle Police Department and described the two men and their vehicle and said they were seen rolling a central air unit to a truck.
The identification led to the suspects being stopped on Highway 36 West near Nethery Road. The Sheriff’s Department was called and deputies found the unit still in their vehicle.
Both men were being held in the Morgan County Jail on $2,500 bond.
