Police: Woman wrote bad checks

A Hartselle woman is charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument after police said she illegally wrote several checks.
Ann Wilhite Whitlow, 40, of 502 Washington Street NW in Hartselle, is charged with possession of a forged instrument in the second degree. The arrest follows a Jan. 15 report by a man saying checks he hadn’t written had been returned against a Citibank account. Kirkland’s Inc. of Decatur also filed a report after suffering a loss due to forged checks.
Whitlow was identified as a suspect after witnesses were interviewed. She was later arrested and taken to Morgan County Jail on $2,500 bond.
