HJHS eighth grade plans storm relief
In lieu of observing their normal annual picnic, eighth grader at Hartselle Junior High School have chosen to conduct a fundraiser for victims of the April 27th tornadoes.
Students will spend the day at Sparkman Civic Center, where they will be accepting items for distribution to families affected by the storms. They also will have buckets for monetary donations.
In addition, a “Relay for Relief” will be held on the park’s walking trail, a distance of 3.5 miles. Students will solicit sponsors for this activity. They will also have a tug-of-war event and a dodge ball tournament, with entry fees going to storm victims.
