Reader hopes investigation motives are pure
Dear Editor:
I’ve been attempting to keep up with the story of former Hartselle Court Clerk Magistrate Stan Holt, and the investigation of the alleged missing money. First, I wish to say that I have not spoken with either party that’s involved with this. Second, I hope this is not politically motivated, or an effort to put someone in that position, as a “quid pro quo” scenario.
I hope this investigation is not just concentrated within the clerk’s office. If my understanding is correct, when people bail out of jail after hours, dispatchers are involved in money handling, that subsequently makes its way to the clerk’s office.
I know Stan Holt when I see him. I have never known him to be unethical, unprofessional, or ill mannered. I also know that when several hands are allowed in the same cookie jar, the potential for missing cookies rises dramatically.
