Billy Conn Turney
Somerville A graveside service for Billy C. Turney, 83, was held April 28, 2025, at 5 p.m. at Turney Family Cemetery with Bro. Jack Bailey officiating. Mr. Turney was born on October 23, 1941, to Parish and Beatrice Turney in Alabama. He died on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Decatur Morgan Hospital.
Billy was a loving father and grandfather. He loved hunting, fishing, and farming; but most of all, he loved watching his grandkids play ball and spending time with his family. Mr. Turney also loved catching and chasing frogs, fireflies, and roly-polies with all the kids.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Ruby Oden. Survivors include his son, Keith Turney (Tina); his daughter, Jennifer Turney; three sisters, Ruth Oden, Patsy Jones (Howard), and Terria Holt; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Ricky Martin, Justin Cobb, Tracy Sandlin, Thomas Tanner, Zac Smith, Justin Hazel, and Lance Sandlin.
