Willa Mae was born in Giles County, Tennessee, on December 9, 1937. She died on April 26, 2025. She was a devoted follower of Christ, living a life that exemplified her Christian beliefs; marked by love, faith, and quiet strength. She peacefully passed away surrounded by her family, whom she cherished so deeply. Known to others as Willa or Willie, she had a warm heart, a gentle spirit, and an unwavering devotion to those she loved. She made everyone feel at home, offering comfort through a kind word, a warm meal, or a helping hand. Willa Mae found joy in life’s simple pleasures: casting a line while fishing, tending to her flowers or losing herself in a good book. Her peaceful nature and love for life left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She was a devoted wife of 61 years, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her wisdom and warmth were the heartbeat of her family; and her nurturing presence will be deeply missed. Though she may be gone from our sight, her love continues to shine brightly in the lives she touched. Willa Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Anders; her parents, W. E. and Willa Francis Rogers; her brothers Ed and Eldon Rogers; her sister, Elizabeth Watson; and her great-grandson, Oak Anders. She is survived by her sons, Jeff Anders (Diane) and Roger Anders (Cindy); three grandchildren, Jennifer (Sommer), Jonathan (Amanda), and Josh (Christy); two greatgrandchildren, Rhett Anders and Magnolia Anders; and a host of loving family and friends. The family extends heartfelt thanks to her best friend Elaine Boyett, her nurse, Kaylie Weems and the compassionate caregivers at Aveanna Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gideon International in Willa Mae’s memory.
